Where the hotels are
Most of Ashkelon's hotels sit on the seafront between Delila beach and Barnea, within walking distance of the promenade and the marina:
- Tamara Hotel (11 Golani St), 130 sea-view rooms, the former Leonardo Ashkelon (hotel site (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Regina Goren Hotel (Yona Goren St, by the beach near the marina) and Agamim Hotel (Moshe Dorot St).
- Ganei Shimshon (38 HaTamar St), an event venue since 1953 with guest rooms for out-of-town guests (site (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The Regina Goren and Agamim are listed on the Ministry of Religious Services kashrut portal (portal (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)) and were bookable on hotel booking sites in October 2026, but we could not find official websites for them, so check directly before booking. The Harlington (9 Yekutiel Adam St, the former Holiday Inn) is left out: we could not confirm it is still taking guests.
Camping
Tel Ashkelon National Park has an overnight area aimed mainly at backpackers (municipal tourism page (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)), and the Nitzanim Sand Dunes reserve north of the city allows overnight camping at its gate area (no toilets or water) (INPA (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Short-term rentals
Apartments in Afridar, Barnea and the newer coastal neighbourhood Ir Yamim are closest to the beaches; Agamim is next to the Eco-Park lake. Use the neighbourhood links on our Where to stay page to search rental sites.
Shabbat and kashrut
The city eruv covers all neighbourhoods, the marina and the promenade, but not the beach sand (Religious Council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). Shirat HaYam Synagogue is at 21 Golani St, near the Golani St hotels. Ask each hotel for its current kashrut certificate.
