The health funds publish their clinic lists online; I checked them on 5 October 2026. The doctors and clinics I list are in the doctors and health fund sections of the directory.
Hospital and emergency room
Barzilai University Medical Center (2 HaHistadrut St) is Ashkelon's hospital. Its 24/7 numbers are 08-6745555 and 08-6663106, and its website has English and Arabic versions. The adult and paediatric emergency departments are in a fortified underground building (Building 300), open 365 days a year.
After hours
- Terem, 3 HaPalmach St, 1-599-520-520; its site lists daily hours of 09:00-00:30. Terem says Ministry of Health exemptions from emergency-room fees also apply there.
- Bikur Rofe, 1 HaOz St, 08-6728989; evenings, and from 09:00 on Friday and Saturday.
The health funds
- Clalit lists at least 10 clinics in Ashkelon, including HaYovel, Naot Ashkelon, Assaf HaRofe, Barnea, Agamim South, Nof Yam and HaIr (Hutzot Mall), plus a children's health centre, a consultant-medicine centre and a women's health centre.
- Leumit lists 6 centres: Agamim, Barnea, Katznelson, Shimshon, Women's Health and Child Development.
- Maccabi lists 4 medical centres: 3 HaGvura St (main centre), Agamim, Barnea and Ir Yamim. Maccabi notes that each has a standard protected space (memugan).
- Meuhedet's clinic finder only works in a browser, so I captured only its occupational-therapy unit.
The Leumit and Meuhedet websites both have English, French, Russian and Arabic versions.
Doctors who speak your language
Of 118 Maccabi doctor listings in Ashkelon on 5 October 2026, 63 list Russian, 84 English and 2 French (a family doctor and a paediatrician); none lists Amharic. Among 51 Maccabi therapist and service listings, 6 list Russian. The directory shows a selection with their language codes; filter by language in the doctors section. The other funds do not publish languages in the same way.
Babies, vaccinations and travel
The Ministry of Health Ashkelon district office on the Barzilai campus handles catch-up vaccinations (by appointment, *5400), a travel-vaccination clinic (Monday 08:00-13:30) and the Tipat Halav nursing administration (08-6745120). I could not find a public list of individual Tipat Halav stations.
Pharmacies
Maccabi lists two Maccabi Pharm branches (Barnea and HaGvura/City) and contracted pharmacies including Super-Pharm at Giron, Hutzot, Barnea and Merkaz David (Afridar). See pharmacies. I found no duty-pharmacy roster for nights and Shabbat.
Mental health
The municipal Resilience Centre gives free short-term treatment for anxiety and trauma (hotline *2452, 24 hours). The municipal educational psychology service for children is at 6 HaHistadrut St (08-6763250).
