On the 2026-27 municipal gan list Barnea (52 gans), Ir HaYayin (37), Agamim (26) and Afridar (21) have the most gans, and the municipal company runs day-care centres, afternoon programmes and holiday camps. The coast, the Eco-Park lake and 13 community centres cover most free time.

Register for gan and grade 1 in Shevat
Gan and grade-1 registration runs 1-21 Shevat each year (for 2027-28 that falls around 9-29 January 2027 - check the municipal page when it opens). Registration is online and does not guarantee a place.

Arrange an afternoon programme
The municipal company runs tzaharonim in gans and grades 1-2 until 16:00/17:00, with 2026-27 fees of 200-550 NIS a month; registration is online only.

Day care for under-3s
The municipal company runs seven day-care centres; subsidised places depend on approval through the government daycare registration service.

Tipat Halav and vaccinations
The Ministry of Health Ashkelon district office on the Barzilai campus handles catch-up vaccinations by appointment and the Tipat Halav nursing administration.

Parks and the lake
The municipality's featured parks include the Eco-Park lake by Agamim, the Sea Park at Delila beach and the fairy-tale park.

Beaches with lifeguards
In 2026 lifeguards work until 10 November at Bar Kochva North, Delila South and the separate beach; swimming elsewhere or outside lifeguard hours is prohibited.
