Retiring to Ashkelon
Ashkelon's municipal senior-citizens service covers men from 67 and women from 62, with an information booklet and reception on Sundays and Mondays. Many older residents are Russian speakers who arrived in the 1990s, and the municipality publishes its updates in Russian too.

The welfare administration's senior-citizens service receives the public on Sundays and Mondays 08:00-12:00 and publishes an information booklet for older residents.

Arnona discount for seniors
Senior citizens can get 30% off arnona on up to 100 m2, subject to an income test.

Parking permit
Seniors applying for the resident parking permit also need a driving licence; the beach strip is free to park in with the permit.

Libraries and the Mediatek
The central library (Mediatek) has computers, Wi-Fi and printing, open Sun-Thu 10:00-19:00 and Fri 09:00-13:00.

Reshet Ashkelon runs 13 community centres with classes and activities, including for new immigrants.

Bituach Leumi branch
The National Insurance branch at 10 Ussishkin St serves by appointment on Sun, Tue and Thu 08:30-13:00; its website is also in Russian, French and Amharic.
